A fully comprehensive, multi-functioning site for Milton Keynes Safeguarding Children Board.
Milton Keynes Safeguarding Children Board (MKSCB) is a multi-agency independent statutory partnership Board which agrees how services and professionals in Milton Keynes should work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. It ensures the effectiveness of the arrangements made by individual agencies and the wider partnership to safeguard and promote the welfare of children through high support and high challenge.
MKSCB were looking to have a complete overhaul of their website and to consolidate all features and functions (such as Procedures and event booking) with one company to free up resources and be more cost effective. The Board had feedback from users of the old site that there was difficulty with site navigation, accessing training courses, feedback forms and certificates.
Phew recommended a multi-functioning site that consisted of an easy-to-navigate, fully mobile-responsive website complete with an online events booking system and a dedicated site for Procedures. Through having these all built by us, we give the option to link all the different areas together, for example showing relevant upcoming events to someone looking at a certain Procedure.
Through assessing analytics and user reviews of the current site, we were able to draw on our ever-growing knowledge of the Safeguarding community to deliver a new website that met the content and usability needs of visitors and worked towards achieving MKSCB’s corporate objectives.
The result for MKSCB was a fully functioning website that contained all the required content, documents and legislation all in one simple yet comprehensive site.
The Google Analytics reports that we set up reveal that the amount of time people are spending on the website has increased. There has also been feedback from users praising the site’s functionality and new appearance.
The project has resulted in increased efficiency for the Board; the admin team have noticed a real difference in the ease of being able to direct people straight to an all-inclusive website that can provide them with the information they need. The cost effectiveness has also been noticed across the Board, with annual savings of approximately £14,000 being achieved by combining all functionalities in one, excluding eLearning which they no longer have running.
“Phew have been a great support throughout the process of creating our new website. They were able to work well with people at all different levels and offered a lot of support, patience and understanding… I was very impressed by how easy they made the whole process, using their SCB and SAB knowledge to guide and advise us on the best way to get what we wanted out of the site. The fact we were able to build relationships with each team member working on our project and have face-to-face meetings was such a positive for us, as well as the fact they are local which allowed us to feel like we were giving back into our community”.
“Phew offered the simplistic advantage of combining all three functions together with one company, which has proved to be much more cost effective and made a huge difference to our admin team’s time efficiency… The whole team have been surprised by the simplicity of WordPress which was made even easier by Phew’s training on the system”.
“I would definitely recommend working with Phew and have already committed to future projects with them myself”.
Helen Craddock, MKSCB Board Manager.
